The event for UK finance directors

The FDs' Excellence Awards are the biggest accolade for UK finance directors. Hosted by Real Business in association with ICAEW, and supported by the CBI, the awards recognise the UK's best FDs - and their service providers.

The awards are broken up into three categories: The FDs' Awards are decided by nominations; The Excellence Awards by votes; and The FTSE FDs' Awards by research. The winners are then announced at our gala awards ceremony in May.

Categories

FDs' Awards

A recognition for FDs – and their teams – both at board level and within the finance function. The awards seek to identify and celebrate finance directors and leaders in UK-based businesses that exemplify the very best of this role.

Finance directors can be nominated or can nominate themselves for one of the following categories:

Young FD of the Year – We're looking for someone under 40 who can "speak the language" and has, on more than one occasion, saved the day.

Private Company FD of the Year – This award is for FDs who don't say no to a challenge.

FD of the Future – We want to hear about promising future FDs who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

The Excellence Awards

The Excellence Awards recognise business banks, auditors (big six and mid-tier), financial software suppliers and recruitment firms.

These awards are determined by votes cast by FDs in our annual FDs' Satisfaction Survey, which was completed by 1,000 finance directors and finance decision-makers in 2011.
